Serac Adventure Films, an award-winning production company specializing in high-quality expedition films, is seeking editing/film, web, graphic design/marketing and office management interns for winter, summer and fall internships. In keeping with our mission of nurturing emerging filmmakers, interns at Serac have the opportunity to learn from the best in the industry and see first-hand how adventure documentaries are made from development to distribution.
Qualified interns will be hard-working, motivated, detail-oriented and responsible. We are looking for interns who can multi-task and will take initiative in our small, fast-paced office. Enthusiasm and drive to be involved either in the office or on the mountain is essential. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in adventure travel, action sports, outdoor activities, and/or documentary filmmaking. Knowledge of the film/video industry is beneficial, including a working knowledge of Final Cut Pro. Experience in photography is a plus. Our office uses the following computer programs: Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Aperture, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Google Docs, Dreamweaver, and Flash CS3. We are looking for individuals who can work an average of 16-25 hours per week and can commit to at least 3 months. Compensation Serac internships are unpaid, however qualified interns will receive college credit and/or a $200 stipend at the completion of their internship. Because of the existing workload at Serac, interns bear the responsibility for structuring their time here. We value individuals who take initiative, as well as ownership, of various parts of our business. Also, because we have limited space and a very small permanent staff, we will not be hiring for permanent positions at the end of the internship period.
We strive to keep our interns busy and engaged with the work we do. Duties vary depending on the projects in production during a given term. Responsibilities may include digitizing and logging tapes in Final Cut Pro, editing smaller projects, managing our digital library of still photos or footage, transcribing interviews, assisting on shoots or Adventure Film Schools, updating our websites, creating posters or other graphic materials, or coordinating with the office manager on office duties related to production and post-production.
